Veterans Awareness Day
The Hamden Veterans Commission has met with the Hamden Middle School and selected
Wednesday the 5th of November for “Veterans Awareness Day 2025”. The date has
changed from their traditional one, (which used to be the Friday before Veterans Day).

Our Services
The Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) is preparing for the annual STAND
DOWN event on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. which will be
held at six regional locations:
Bridgeport: Univ. of Bridgeport, Wheeler Recreational Center, 400 University Ave.
Southington: Southington Armory 600 Woodruff Street
Danbury: Danbury War Memorial 1 Memorial Drive
Norwich: Easter Seals Veterans Rally Point, 24 Stott Ave.
Rocky Hill: CTDVA main campus 287 West Street
Stamford: UCONN, 1 University Plaza
